Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

This is a review for AOS interview in the San Bernadino USCIS office that took place in mid June, 2018. Summary available at the end.
Posted in Los Angeles for visibility

Setting: I am the USC(Petitioner) and my wife is the applicant(Beneficiary)
Our interview time was close to 11am. We got there about 35 minutes earlier. Security line was short and quick. The interview waiting room is on the second floor where everyone is waiting. There were a lot of people waiting for their interviews and from what I can tell, they are mostly here for Naturalization interviews.

So we checked in as soon as we got there and started waiting. Many couples came after us went in to their interviews before us. I had to ask the reception desk and their canned response was "it really depends on your Interview Officer(IO from now)". In the end, we were called in after waiting for about 2 hours. Our IO was a kind-looking lady in her 60s and she brought us into her off... read complete review

Got my interview today. Got there 25 min before my interview time. But had to wait like 15 min at the security. They let 2 people thru security x-ray at a time. So go a little early.
After check in at window. We waited 30 to 40 min. Interview was about 15 min. Got the pass/approved.

Read here to park at Aiso St. My total time from parking to exit the interview, was a little over 1 hr. Ended up paying $2 to park.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hey guys, I just want to let you know I went for my interview today for adjustment of status. The interview went well and the officer was very engaging and thorough. He asked how we met,our names, address and few documents to confirm our marriage. I was approved immediately after the interview with a confirmation letter, and he told me to wait for the card in the mail box.

Just few minutes ago, I received an email confirmation that my card is being produced.

Went in for my interview for my AOS to GC after marrying my American partner. We had a lovely lady who was very praiseworthy of my case that I filed myself (without an attorney - go me!) She said I was lucky because my case got to interview within 4 months of application, which is rare under the current administration.

Bad news was my Birth Certificate was not the Long Form version and so I was issued with an RFE and told my case was on hold until I got a Long Form copy.
Once I had my Long Form BC I could drop of a copy at the field office and then my case would be approved. Hopefully this can be fixed by next week.

All in all - a pleasant experience, aside from the minor bump.

(Side note: I took in an exact copy of my AOS package but she never asked to see any of it, only our combined ID)
